The architecture of Omegamon II for MVS comprised several key components. The Data Collector gathered performance metrics from the z/OS system. The Analysis Engine processed this data, calculating key performance indicators (KPIs).
The Display Interface, built on ISPF, presented the data to users through drop-down screens and graphical displays. Communication between components occurred through z/OS system services and internal data structures. Data was stored in memory and potentially in VSAM datasets for historical analysis.
The product relied on RACF or similar security products for authentication and access control. Configuration was managed through PARMLIB members. However, Omegamon II for MVS is no longer supported.
Users should migrate to Omegamon XE for z/OS for continued monitoring and management capabilities.
