Product Overview
The architecture of Rocket Mobius is designed for high availability and scalability on the z/OS platform. The main components include the Report Capture component, which intercepts and captures report output from various sources; the Indexing and Storage component, which indexes and stores reports in VSAM datasets and relational databases; the Retrieval and Viewing component, which provides access to reports through various interfaces; and the Distribution component, which automates report delivery. These components communicate using TCP/IP and internal z/OS communication mechanisms.
The Report Capture component can be configured to capture reports from batch jobs, online transactions, and print streams. The Indexing and Storage component uses a combination of VSAM datasets for report data and relational databases for metadata, ensuring efficient storage and retrieval. The Retrieval and Viewing component provides access through web-based interfaces, APIs, and native z/OS interfaces.
The Distribution component supports various delivery methods, including email, printing, and file transfer. Security is implemented through RBAC, encryption, and audit logging. Compared to competitors, Rocket Mobius offers more advanced indexing and search capabilities, along with robust automation features.
