The architecture of SAP for Insurance is based on a modular design, with key components including Policy Management, Claims Management, and Billing and Payments. These components communicate through a service-oriented architecture (SOA), enabling seamless data exchange and process integration. The system uses DB2 on z/OS for the database, providing a robust and scalable data storage solution.
APIs, including REST and SOAP, facilitate integration with other systems. The communication protocols used are HTTP/S and RFC. The Policy Management component handles policy creation, modification, and renewal.
The Claims Management component manages claims processing, from submission to settlement. The Billing and Payments component handles invoicing, payment processing, and reconciliation. The system supports RBAC for access control, ensuring data security and compliance.
The web console and CLI provide administrative access for configuration and monitoring. The architecture is designed to support high availability and disaster recovery.
