Product Overview
The architecture of SCORE Data Architecture Integration comprises three main components: the Code Generator, the Metadata Repository, and the Runtime Libraries. The Code Generator is the core component, responsible for producing COBOL or Java code based on the metadata stored in the Metadata Repository. The Metadata Repository is a central repository for database schemas, data definitions, and application-specific configurations.
It stores information about DB2, IMS, and VSAM databases. The Runtime Libraries provide the necessary support for database interactions, including connection management, data retrieval, and data manipulation. Communication between the generated applications and the databases occurs over standard protocols such as TCP/IP and DRDA.
The Code Generator uses configuration files to customize code generation. The generated code integrates with existing mainframe security and monitoring tools. The tool operates on z/OS and zVSE/VSEn platforms.
The Metadata Repository can be accessed and updated through the mainframe environment's tools and utilities. The Code Generator analyzes the metadata and generates the necessary database access routines and data mapping logic.
