SDE

The architecture of SDE comprises several key components: the Data Extractor, the Report Generator, and the API Gateway. The Data Extractor is responsible for reading SAS datasets. The Report Generator formats the extracted data into various output formats.

The API Gateway provides an interface for external systems to interact with SDE. Communication between components is primarily internal, with the API Gateway acting as the external interface. Data is stored and accessed from SAS files.

The system uses configuration files to define data sources, report templates, and API settings. The API uses HTTP and HTTPS for secure communication. The CLI is used for administration, including user management and system configuration.

SDE supports authentication via username/password and uses a role-based access control (RBAC) model. Audit logging is implemented to track user actions and system events. The system's design prioritizes efficient data extraction and reporting from SAS files on z/OS.
