SSA

SSA's architecture is designed to integrate seamlessly with the z/OS environment and RACF. The main components include the TSO Direct Administration, CICS Direct Administration, Access Simulator, and The Scheduler. These components communicate through z/OS internal mechanisms and RACF interfaces.

The TSO and CICS components provide interactive interfaces for administrators to manage RACF resources directly. The Access Simulator allows administrators to determine a user or group's effective access to a resource, aiding in troubleshooting and permission verification. The Scheduler component automates security request management through batch jobs, improving efficiency and reducing manual effort.

Data storage relies on RACF's internal databases for user profiles, resource definitions, and access control lists. There are no external APIs exposed. Network requirements are minimal, as communication occurs within the z/OS environment.

Security is enforced through RACF's authentication and access control mechanisms. All actions are logged by RACF, providing a comprehensive audit trail. Configuration parameters are primarily managed through RACF settings and the Scheduler's job definitions.

The TSO and CICS interfaces provide direct access to RACF functions, while the Access Simulator allows for testing user permissions. The Scheduler utilizes batch jobs for automated security request management.
