Tivoli Advanced Allocation Management

The architecture of Tivoli Advanced Allocation Management (TAAM) is centered around several key components designed to provide automated dataset space management on z/OS. The Allocation Policy Engine is the core component, allowing administrators to define and enforce allocation rules. These policies can specify thresholds, actions, and other parameters to manage dataset space effectively.

The Space Monitor continuously tracks dataset space usage, providing real-time data on allocation status. The Dynamic Allocation Manager is responsible for dynamically adjusting space allocations based on the policies defined in the Allocation Policy Engine and the data collected by the Space Monitor. This component intercepts allocation requests and modifies them before they are processed by z/OS.
