Websphere MQ Advanced Message Security

The architecture of Websphere MQ Advanced Message Security (AMS) comprised several key components. The AMS agent, a core component, intercepted messages passing through the IBM MQ queue manager. It enforced security policies defined in the policy repository.

The policy repository stored security policies, which dictated encryption algorithms, digital signature requirements, and access control rules. The keystore managed cryptographic keys and certificates used for encryption, decryption, and digital signatures. Communication between components occurred primarily through the IBM MQ messaging infrastructure.

The AMS agent interacted with the queue manager to intercept and process messages. The policy repository and keystore were accessed by the AMS agent to retrieve security policies and cryptographic materials. 509 certificates for authentication.

The `amqmae` command-line tool was used for configuration and management. AMS is not supported; its features are now integrated into the core IBM MQ product. Migrate to a supported IBM MQ version and configure its security features.
