The architecture of Co:Z Dataset Pipes centers on the `czdpipe` executable, which serves as the primary interface for all operations. This component interacts with several key modules: a dataset access module, a format conversion library, and a logging module. The dataset access module handles the reading and writing of data to z/OS datasets, utilizing standard z/OS file I/O APIs.
The format conversion library provides support for converting between different data formats, such as EBCDIC and ASCII. Communication between these components is managed internally within the `czdpipe` process. The tool does not expose any APIs.
Data storage is handled directly within z/OS datasets. Network requirements are minimal unless used with Co:Z Launcher, which uses standard network protocols for communication with remote systems. Configuration parameters are specified via command-line arguments or configuration files, allowing for customization of dataset names, file formats, and conversion options.
The product does not use any databases.
