The architecture of Image Focus is centered around three primary components: Inspection Services, Baseline Services, and Subsystem Inspectors. Inspection Services are responsible for validating system configurations. They interact with z/OS configuration files such as PARMLIB and PROCLIB members, using internal interfaces to access system information.
The `VERIFY` command is the primary interface for these services. Baseline Services provide the functionality to create and manage configuration baselines. These services store snapshots of acceptable configurations, enabling change detection and facilitating rapid troubleshooting.
The `BASELINE CREATE` command is used to create a baseline. Subsystem Inspectors extend the core functionality to specific subsystems, including TCP/IP, JES2, JES3, VTAM, and CICS. These inspectors provide detailed configuration analysis and validation tailored to each subsystem.
Communication between components is primarily internal, with data exchange occurring through z/OS system services and internal APIs. Image Focus does not use external databases; it relies on z/OS file systems and SMF records for storage and logging. There are no specific network ports or external network requirements, as the product is accessed through the z/OS console or batch jobs.
