Product Overview

The architecture of ITCAM for IMS comprised several key components. The IMS data collector agent resided on the z/OS system and collected performance data from IMS. This agent communicated with the central monitoring server using proprietary protocols.

The central server aggregated data from multiple agents and provided a consolidated view of the IMS environment. The Tivoli Enterprise Portal provided a graphical user interface for monitoring and managing the product. The product used a relational database to store historical performance data.

The CLI provided administrative capabilities, including starting and stopping agents and configuring monitoring. The product is no longer supported; its functionality is available in ITCAM for Transactions. Migration to ITCAM for Transactions or alternatives like IBM Z Performance and Capacity Analytics is recommended.

The communication between the agent and the server used encrypted channels for security.
