Product Overview

The architecture of Natural ISPF consists of several key components: a command processor, a file editor, and a job submission interface. The command processor is responsible for interpreting user commands and directing them to the appropriate system functions. The file editor provides capabilities for creating, modifying, and viewing files.

The job submission interface allows users to submit batch jobs for processing. These components communicate internally, utilizing system services provided by the z/OS or zVSE/VSE operating systems. Data storage relies on the operating system's file system.

Authentication is handled through the underlying security mechanisms, such as RACF, which employs role-based access control (RBAC). There are no external APIs. The primary interface is command-line based.

Key commands include EDIT 'filename', BROWSE 'filename', SUBMIT, and CANCEL. Configuration is managed through system files. The system utilizes the operating system's logging and monitoring capabilities.

Natural ISPF does not provide encryption; security is managed at the operating system level.
