Reflection

Reflection's architecture comprises several key components: the Reflection Workspace, the Connection Manager, the Terminal Emulator, and the Security Module. The Reflection Workspace provides the user interface, allowing users to manage sessions, configure settings, and interact with host applications. The Connection Manager handles the establishment and maintenance of connections to host systems.

It supports various protocols, including TN3270, TN5250, SSH, and Telnet. The Terminal Emulator interprets and displays data received from the host system, emulating different terminal types such as 3270, VT100, and others. The Security Module manages authentication, encryption, and access control.

It supports authentication methods like username/password, Kerberos, and certificate-based authentication. The Security Module also implements encryption protocols such as TLS/SSL and SSH to secure data transmission. The communication between components occurs primarily through TCP/IP.

The Reflection Workspace communicates with the Connection Manager to initiate and manage sessions. The Connection Manager communicates with the Terminal Emulator to display host data. The Security Module integrates with the Connection Manager to handle authentication and encryption.

Reflection does not use a dedicated database for storing configuration data; instead, it uses configuration files. These files store session settings, user preferences, and security configurations. The software uses ports 23 (Telnet), 21 (FTP), 22 (SSH), and 443 (HTTPS) for communication.
