The architecture of Tivoli Omegamon XE for WebSphere MQ consisted of several key components. The monitoring agents, deployed on z/OS LPARs, collected data from WebSphere MQ queue managers. These agents communicated with the Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Server (TEMS) using TCP/IP.
The TEMS acted as a central data repository, processing and storing the collected data. The Tivoli Enterprise Portal (TEP) provided a graphical user interface for viewing the monitoring data. The agents used configuration files to define the queue managers and other parameters to be monitored.
The TEMS used a relational database to store historical data. The network configuration required specific ports to be open for agent-TEMS communication. The product supported authentication methods for secure access.
