Product Overview
The architecture of FIRST/LR consists of several key components. The Data Extraction Engine initiates the data retrieval process from the CA IDMS database. The LRF DML Processor applies transformation rules using LRF DML.
The Configuration Manager handles all configuration settings, including database connection details, data extraction specifications, transformation rules, and output format settings. The Output Formatter structures the extracted data into the desired format. Communication between components occurs via internal z/OS protocols.
The product interacts with CA IDMS databases using IDMS data structures and access methods. Security is managed through z/OS security, including RACF and audit logging. The product does not expose APIs.
DATABASE, SELECT=FIELDS` extracts data from a specific IDMS database. The extracted data can be output to various formats and storage mechanisms. Monitoring is done through z/OS tools.
