Product Overview

The architecture of the TPS/3270 BSC Controller comprises several key components. The Session Manager handles the creation, maintenance, and termination of 3270 sessions. The Data Transfer Module is responsible for sending and receiving data over TCP/IP, adhering to the BSC protocol and 3270 data stream specifications.

The Configuration Engine manages the loading and application of configuration settings, which are stored in text-based configuration files. These files define connection parameters (host IP, port), terminal characteristics (model type, screen size), and security settings. Communication between components occurs through function calls within the C language API.

The controller does not use a database for persistent storage; configuration settings are loaded into memory at startup. Network requirements include an accessible TCP/IP network with a defined port (typically 3270). The controller supports standard 3270 data streams and BSC protocols.

The API provides functions for initializing the controller, establishing connections, sending data, and receiving data.
