The architecture of EZ-XMVS for IDMS comprised several key components. The XMVS Manager, a z/OS started task, served as the central control point, coordinating synchronization activities. Buffer Pool Agents, residing within each IDMS address space, communicated with the Manager to exchange buffer pool updates.
Communication between the Manager and Agents utilized a proprietary TCP/IP-based protocol. Configuration was managed through a dedicated configuration file, specifying buffer pool names, synchronization intervals, and communication parameters. The system did not use any external databases for persistent storage.
The product is now integrated into EZ-DB for IDMS.
