Product Overview

The architecture of TPS/SNA Primary is designed to emulate an SNA mainframe host on UNIX and Windows platforms. The core components include the SNA Stack, Session Manager, and Resource Manager. The SNA Stack is responsible for handling SNA protocol processing, including data formatting, session establishment, and data transmission.

The Session Manager manages SNA sessions, including session activation, deactivation, and monitoring. The Resource Manager handles the allocation and management of SNA resources, such as Logical Units (LUs) and Physical Units (PUs). Communication between components occurs through internal APIs and shared memory.

The SNA Stack interacts with the Session Manager to establish and manage SNA sessions. The Session Manager interacts with the Resource Manager to allocate and deallocate SNA resources. Configuration files are used to define SNA resources, network connections, and security settings.

The product supports user ID/password and certificate-based authentication. Audit logging is provided to track system events and security-related activities. Compared to other products, TPS/SNA Primary provides robust PU4/5 emulation and cross-domain resource support, which is essential for complex SNA environments.

0 devices and other PU4/5 systems. The product's design ensures high availability and scalability to meet the demands of enterprise environments.
